Always on the lookout for a treasure, my sights were alerted when this “little dancer” caught my attention as it went dashing, darting and dancing passed my eyes.
SPA Etsy Team member Jaimie Merrell of Richmond, VA has gladdened my senses with this delectable green and white porcelain sculpture.
”This piece began as a wheel thrown cup, which was then cut, altered and textured by hand. The top is unglazed porcelain clay, and it stands on three hand-sculpted glazed legs.
Named “Little Dancer”, the piece is positioned as if living and in mid-motion. Inspiration includes sea life, flowers and Disney characters.”
Not only does this piece look fine while in robust porcelain pirouette, additional positions also communicate the uniqueness of the potter’s eye.
